Senior Wetland Scientist

Darcey Miller has acted as the senior wetland scientist at Shockey Planning Group since 2014, and also worked with the firm in 2011-2012. She has professional experience in environmental permitting, specializing in wetland and stream delineation and assessment, wetland mitigation and restoration, Endangered Species Act (ESA) consultation, and wildlife habitat studies since 1998. Darcey is skilled at proposing holistic approaches in site plan design and mitigation/restoration projects; leading field efforts for wetland and stream delineations; and developing and implementing monitoring programs for wetland projects. She has coordinated with agencies to obtain a wide range of environmental permits, including Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 permits, CWA Section 401 water quality certifications, Hydraulic Project Approvals, NPDES permits, ESA concurrence, and local permits associated with critical areas.  Darcey has provided services to a diverse set of clients, including private engineering, development, and architectural firms; petroleum companies; single-family landowners; and government agencies including Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), NOAA, national and local parks, tribes, counties, and cities.  


In her free time, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, practicing yoga, and photographing sunsets.
