Reid Shockey

AICP, President and Principal

Shockey Planning Group, founded by native Washingtonian Reid Shockey, AICP, has been providing multi-disciplinary environmental and planning services throughout Washington State for over three decades. From early on, Reid Shockey believed that the region was on the cusp of significant growth as a new millennium approached, and that the need to plan for the future was critical.

Today, having raised his family in Everett, Reid actively pursues a quality community while participating in civic and economic organizations to promote livability in the region. As President of SPG, Reid sees continued strong growth for the region and the continued necessity for quality planning.

Reid Shockey is a Land Use Planner with 46 years of planning experience in the Puget Sound area and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. His background includes public and private sector planning. Reid is a recognized leader in transportation issues in the Puget Sound region.  In 2006, he served on the Regional Transportation Commission for Washington, having been appointed by Governor Gregoire.  He is a founder and President of the Snohomish County Committee for Improved Transportation (SCCIT), a business/government coalition dedicated to identifying critical transportation needs and funding.  Reid has testified before legislative committees on proposed transportation funding.  Reid was Past-Chair of the Snohomish County Economic Development Council, a Past-Chair of the Citizen Oversight Panel for Sound Transit, and a Past-Chair of the Providence Everett Medical Center Community Board.

Reid and his wife have several incurable addictions:  ten grandkids, bad golf, good wine, Husky football and world travel.
